Hidden Tiers
Hidden Tiers allow you to create membership tiers that are not displayed on the default Inveterate membership landing page. They are commonly used for invite-only offers, special customer segments, or internal programs where access should be controlled.
This article explains what Hidden Tiers are typically used for, how to configure them, and important behavior to be aware of before using them.
What are Hidden Tiers used for?
Hidden Tiers are most commonly used in the following scenarios:
Invite-only or VIP memberships
Influencer or ambassador programs
Legacy pricing for existing members
Wholesale or B2B memberships
Customer service or recovery offers
Internal testing or migration tiers
Hidden Tiers function the same as standard tiers once a customer joins—they follow the same billing logic and member experience. The key difference is how customers access them.
Important: If you plan to use a Hidden Tier as a paid membership, you will need to build and host your own landing page for that tier.
How Hidden Tiers work
When a tier is hidden:
It is removed from the default Inveterate membership landing page
It is not visible as an upgrade or downgrade option in the member portal
Customers can only join the tier through a custom page you provide
Once a customer joins a Hidden Tier, their experience is the same as a customer on a standard (non-hidden) tier, with the exception of upgrade and downgrade visibility (covered below).
How to create and hide a tier
Hidden Tiers are created the same way as any other tier.
Step 1: Create and configure the tier
Create the tier as you normally would
Configure pricing, benefits, and all other tier settings
Step 2: Hide the tier from the landing page
In your Inveterate dashboard, go to Landing Page → Pricing
Select the tier you want to hide
Toggle off Display on landing page

Once this toggle is disabled, the tier will no longer appear on the default Inveterate membership landing page.
Selling a Hidden Tier
After hiding a tier, customers will not be able to discover or join it on their own. To offer the tier, you must provide a custom landing page.
Custom landing page requirement
To sell a Hidden Tier, you will need to:
Create a custom landing page (Shopify page, custom storefront, or developer-built page)
Share this page directly with the customers you want to offer the tier to
Add to Cart button setup
Your custom page must include an Add to Cart button configured specifically for the Hidden Tier’s selling plan.
For implementation details, follow the Add to Cart documentation linked below: Add to Cart button setup
Member experience on Hidden Tiers
Once a customer joins a Hidden Tier, their experience is nearly identical to a member on a standard tier.
What members see
Hidden Tier members receive the same benefits, billing, and access as defined by the tier
Hidden Tiers do not appear as options in the member portal
Upgrades and downgrades
Hidden Tier members can upgrade or downgrade into non-hidden tiers from the customer portal
Non-hidden tier members cannot upgrade or downgrade into a Hidden Tier
Hidden Tiers are not shown as upgrade or downgrade options to other members
This ensures Hidden Tiers remain invite-only and are not discoverable by existing members.
Cancellations
Hidden Tier members can cancel their membership normally from their customer portal
