We add a few different tags to your customers, depending on actions they take (or don't take). These are beneficial to us for many reasons, but they're also beneficial to you for segmentation and analytics purposes within your Shopify Dashboard.
The inveterate tier:XXX
tag is added to every customer when they sign up for a specific tier. In the Shopify member profile, the XXX is replaced with the name of the tier you entered into Inveterate.
Merchant Use Case: This tag will help you create segments so you can send messaging to specific tier members. This tag will also sync with your email marketing platforms, like Klaviyo, so you can further segment customers in other platforms as well.
The inveterate-tier#XXX
tag is similar to the inveterate tier:XXX
tag. This is added to every customer when they sign up for a specific tier. Instead of using the name of the tier for the tag, Inveterate instead adds the unique back end identifier for the tier.
The inveterate-subscriber
tag is added to every customer who is currently enrolled in your membership program. As long as the customer has an active subscription and their most recent payment was successful, they will have this tag.
Merchant Use Case: This tag will help you easily identify customers who are current, active subscribers. This will allow you to build custom Shopify benefits specifically for the customers who are part of your program.
The inveterate-cancelled
tag is added to every customer who was once subscribed, but had their subscription cancelled.
Merchant Use Case: This tag will help you easily identify customers who have churned . This will allow you to market specific deals to them in an effort to being them back into the program.
The inveterate-cancellation-pending
tag is added to every customer who has decided to cancel their upcoming renewal, but is still able to access their benefits. For example, if you sell a 12 months membership and some cancels in month 6, they will show as cancellation pending for the last 6 months.
Merchant Use Case: This tag will help you easily identify customers who have churned but still have access to their benefits until the next billing period. This will allow you to market specific deals to them in an effort to convince them not to leave the program.
The inveterate-billing-failure
tag is added to the member's Shopify profile when the first of three billing attempts fail. This tag will remain on the customer's profile until they are successfully billed, or if they rejoin the membership program. Inveterate will attempt to bill the customer once a day for three days before automatically canceling them from their membership.
Merchant Use Case: This tag will help you easily identify customers with failed billing, as opposed to actively cancelled/churned members. You can use this tag to send billing failure reminders via Klaviyo.
