Free Shipping
The Free Shipping benefit gives all members Free Shipping on all orders for the length of their membership.
Marketing Tip: Free Shipping is a great evergreen benefit for your members. Take the time to explain to them that their savings will quickly outweigh their initial membership cost.
Pro Tip: Set requirements for a minimum purchase amount or quantity of items and promote this to your customers to raise your AOV.
Pro Tip: This benefit can be configured to allow free shipping on orders that meet specific thresholds such as cart value - or for specific shipping methods such as offering free standard shipping, while still offering a paid option for expedited shipping.
When using Functions you will not be able to apply Free Shipping to the order where the member also purchases the membership, it will only apply to subsequent orders after the customer has purchased the membership.
If you wish to give Free Shipping in the same order as the membership, you will need to use Scripts and customize the script accordingly.
The script version of the Free Shipping benefit will only function on Shopify Plus stores that have upgraded to checkout extensibility. More information about this is available from Shopify.
To set up free shipping:
Click on the Benefits tab in Inveterate, and then click on Free Shipping.
Enter the name of the benefit - this is what the customer will see.
Enter the description of the benefit. This is where you describe how the free shipping benefit will work to your members.
Upload the icon that you want to use. See below for a template you can use.
Configure the minimum requirements to get Free Shipping. You can set whether customers need to purchase a certain number of items, or set a minimum purchase amount.
Exclude Specific Shipping Rates if you exclude certain shipping rates from free shipping. You can use this to have customers get free ground shipping, but still have the option to pay for expedited shipping.
Select the countries the Free Shipping benefit will apply to.
Select whether free shipping will be applied using Functions, a coupon code or through a script. Note: Only Shopify Plus merchants are able to use scripts. Non-Plus merchants need to use Functions or coupon codes.
Enter the free shipping code (if you are not using a script or Functions).
Save the benefit settings.
If you use a Script, copy the script and paste it as a new script in the Shopify Scripts app. Select "Blank Template" from the script templates option when setting up. Click "Save + Publish" in the Shopify Scripts app.
Enable the benefit.
